Flu and Covid Vaccinations

Covid and Flu vaccinations are now available to book at our GP Practices. Patient’s who are eligible will receive a text message inviting them to book an appointment. Their will be a link on this text message which will allow you to book your appointment. If you are unable to use the link on the text message please contact the surgery as normal and the team will be happy to help. Anyone who does not have a mobile number will be contacted by the team over the next few weeks to be offered an appointment.

Flu and Covid can be a serious or even life-threatening illness for many of our patients.  The NHS offers free covid and flu vaccinations to those who are most at risk of getting seriously ill from these conditions.

COVID Vaccinations

Getting the COVID-19 vaccine can:

  • help reduce your risk of getting severe symptoms
  • help you recover more quickly if you catch COVID-19
  • help reduce your risk of having to go to hospital or dying from COVID-19
  • protect against different types of COVID-19 virus or flu

 

The COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for people at increased risk from COVID-19.

You may be offered these vaccinations if you:

  • are aged 75 or over (including those who will be 75 by 31st January 2026)
  • are aged 6 months to 74 years and have a weakened immune system because of a health condition or treatment.
  • live in a care home for older adults

Flu Vaccinations

You can get the free NHS flu vaccine if you:

  • Aged 2 and 3 years on 31st August 2025
  • Primary and secondary school aged children
  • All children in clinical risk groups aged 6months to less than 18 years
  • are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2026)
  • Those aged 18 to under 65 years in a clinical risk group
  • are pregnant
  • Those in long-stay residential care home
  • are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer’s allowance
  • live with someone who has a weakened immune system

 

Frontline health and social care workers can also get a flu vaccine through their employer.

If you are eligible for either vaccination, then you will be invited.
